Why can’t I continue messaging the person about their pet listing?

If you’re no longer able to send messages to another user you were previously chatting with—and you notice the pet’s photo in the chat thread appears greyed out—this means their listing has been deactivated.

This happens when there hasn’t been any activity on the user’s Petco Love Lost account for 30 days. To keep search results current and effective, we automatically remove inactive reports after that time.
