Why can I no longer send messages to the person I was chatting with?

If you've been chatting with another user through Petco Love Lost and noticed that the chat box is now grayed out or you're unable to send messages, there are a couple of possible reasons for this:

• The pet listing has been removed – The other user may have taken down the listing because the pet has been reunited, is no longer in their care, or they’re no longer actively searching for the pet.

• The user has deleted their account – If the person you were chatting with has deleted their Petco Love Lost account, their profile and listings are also removed from the platform, which disables the chat thread you had with them.
