Work the neighborhood
Speak with neighbors, postal carriers, landscapers, and anyone else in the vicinity who might’ve seen your pet and post your lost pet flyer in local vet offices and other community spots (grocery store, municipal building, etc.) Recruit friends and family to speed up and widen the search. Remember: 67% of households are pet owners and many will be glad to help.
Register your pet on Petco Love Lost
Upload a picture of your lost pet, then search the Petco Love Lost database. Sign up to receive alerts about your pet, create a digital lost pet flyer to post on local social media pages (Facebook, Nextdoor), and distribute via your email contacts (think friends, family, neighborhood listservs).
Check the chip
If your pet is microchipped, verify/update your information with your microchip manufacturer, then search the Petco Love Lost database by microchip number. Make sure you’re reachable in the event your pet is found.
Make a call
Most shelters list found pets on Petco Love Lost, but we can’t guarantee every shelter in your area participates, so make sure you file a lost pet report directly with your local shelter, as well as search and visit local shelters.
